The Initiative Association was established in 1998 as a non-governmental organization
Independent and accountable. It is considered one of the local leaders entities in the field of community development. The association was established to respond to the needs of microfinance and the SME sector in Egypt. Moreover, the association assists the Social Fund for Development in replicating the experience of the project of developing small projects in Upper Egypt. This project was established in 1996 according to the agreement signed between the governments of Egypt and Canada, represented by the Social Fund for Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development - Canada Formerly known as the Canadian International Development Agency.

El-MOBADARA management approach includes development and implementation of policies, procedures tools necessary to ensure effective management of project resources and attainment of result with an emphasis on supporting the development of partners NGOs and branch offices staff and ensuring full mainstreaming of gender equality principles. El-MOBADARA has an effective and efficient fund management systems, micro finance detailed procedures manuals, automated loan trackers and efficient internal and external control systems.
